Apprentices are required to usher twice a production.
– A single production runs for three weekends (Thursday, Friday, Saturday + one Sunday matinee until the fall.)
– Arrival time is 6:30 pm, the plays start at 8:00 pm. Sundays: 12:30 pm; Curtain 2:00 pm. Apprentices report to Andrew or Jena and should check in with either of the two upon arriving at the theatre to usher.
– During this time, apprentices will greet patrons, usher, deliver desserts at intermission, and direct cars in the parking lot. (Apprentices will not be used for prep in the kitchen.)
-Appropriate dress required: Apprentice T-Shirt (provided), nice pants, skirts or long shorts. Appropriate footwear (no flip flops). Short shorts are not permitted, even if you are in the parking lot.
– Unless serving as part of the production run crew, planning to watch the entire show, or it is strike night, apprentices will be required to leave after intermission has ended, approximately 9:30 pm.
-An ushering schedule for apprentices will be made for the entire 3 week run of a play. Apprentices will be given the opportunity to submit ushering requests. Ushering requests must be submitted through email to email@example.com by the Saturday before a new play’s opening. If a request is not received by then, an ushering assignment will be given.
-An ushering schedule for the upcoming play will be posted at the theater on opening night of every new play. The complete schedule will also be emailed to all apprentices and their parents. It is your responsibility to find a replacement if you cannot make your assigned ushering date.
-In the event of an emergency, an apprentice must contact another apprentice to “trade” ushering commitments; and must contact Jena (firstname.lastname@example.org (724) 272-3968)
