AREA PREMIERE OF ‘LAST GAS’ OPENS AT LITTLE LAKE;

CANONSBURG, PA, JULY 7, 2015 – Little Lake Theatre Company (www.littlelake.org) announces that Last Gas, a play by John Cariani, will open on July 9th.  The fourth installment of Little Lakes Mainstage series of plays is another area premiere.

“This play is heartbreaking, hopeful, and honest,” said Roxy MtJoy. “It will move you and make you laugh; it is full of all of the crazy contridictions that make up real life.”

In Last Gas, Nat Paradis’ old high school flame returns for her mother’s funeral and walks into the convenience store Nat and his dad run in rural Northern Maine (“Last chance to use a landline for 38 miles!”) Suddenly, Nat comes face to face with a chance to “get back to happy.” With a cast of delightful characters putting their noses into Nat’s business, this exploration of lost love, love that’s not quite right and love that is just right, John Cariani (author of the audience-favorite Almost, Maine) pens a funny and touching “everyday” love story.

Little Lake artist director, Roxy MtJoy directs Last Gas that features James Curry, Rebekah Hukill, Mary Liz Meyer, John Michnya, Michael Petrucci, and Phil Powell.

“This cast has a great mix of exciting Little Lake newcomers like John Michnya and Michael Petrucci and talented vets like James Curry and Mary Liz Meyer,” said MtJoy. “I think audiences are going to fall in love with each of their characters.”

Last Gas runs July 9-11; 16-19 and 23-25. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.littlelake.org/box-office/ or by phone at 724-745-6300.
