Touring Plays for Your School
Did you know that Little Lake’s terrific educational touring company has been traveling to elementary and middle schools for almost 30 years? Our professional touring ensemble is committed to presenting colorful, engaging plays that support and enrich the educational curriculum. Our percussionist provides delightful musical accents with more than two dozen instruments. Pre-production materials and post-performance question-and-answer sessions are included in all of our assembly programs.
We are currently booking Winter/Spring 2012 performances of ONCE UPON MY MIND:

Character! Setting! Conflict! What are these elements of successful story writing and how can they be integrated into the writing process? Once Upon My Mind challenges students to explore these concepts through colorful, highly entertaining adaptations of several popular stories.
The play begins with a young student who is eager to share a story she has written. She reads her story, SARA AND HER DAY, aloud to friends:
“Once upon a time, Sara woke up. Then she had a very nice day. Then she went to sleep. The end.”
When her story is met with less-than-enthusiastic response, Sara asks, “But what can be added to a story like this? It has everything: A beginning. A middle. An end. And a title! What do other stories have that mine doesn’t?”
This is the question that launches our imaginative exploration into story-writing! The actors bring to life three short, delightfully entertaining stories that clearly illustrate the importance of conflict, character and setting. Before the play ends, Sara will re-write her own story, using contributions from students in the audience. That’s our favorite part!
ONCE UPON MY MIND is one of six original touring works by playwright, Sunny Disney Fitchett, and is, perhaps, the one for which we receive the highest praise from teachers and their students.
