JULY 9 - 25
Jonathan Waxman is a superstar artist, so popular that collectors will buy his work sight unseen.” While visiting London for a major exhibition of his work, Jonathan decides to call on his former girlfriend, Patricia, who was his muse for his early works. Patricia, now married to Nick, invites Jonathan to spend the night. When he arrives, tensions arise among the threesome. Nick despises both Jonathan's art and his superstar status. Patricia is still angry that Jonathan left her, and wonders about his motives for visiting. Jonathan finds a painting he had done of Patricia that represents the genius of his early career and finds himself wondering why his work has never been as good since he left her. Darting from the past to the present and back, Sight Unseen explores the power of inspiration, money, love, and role of the artist in changing times.
SIGHT UNSEEN is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
