About Little Lake Theatre

The Theatre

Little Lake Theatre, an idyllic indoor theater of 135 seats, overlooking Canonsburg Lake, Pa. We are a seasonal company that operates April through December.

The audience is no more than 25 feet from the stage giving performances an intimate, yet intense feel. The theater is constructed as a permanent “theatre-in-the-round,” with the audience sitting on all four sides of the square stage.

Will Disney founded Little Lake Theatre in 1949 with the vision of creating what is at the heart of community theatre: a place where actors, directors, designers, volunteers, and audiences support one another, learn from one another, and thoroughly enjoy one another’s company. Will’s vision remains our passion today.

The Organization

Our organization is made up of passionate paid and volunteer staff. We have a board that supports the work of Little Lake Theatre and provides mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by our Artistic and Managing Directors, the Board-to-Board relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected.

Our Mission

To cultivate community through quality theatrical experiences.

Our Vision

To explore opportunities to connect to the human spirit in a world that has become more disconnected; to be well-known and loved by the community as a place where everyone feels a sense of belonging on stage or in the audience.
