The Theatre
Little Lake Theatre is a professional community theatre located along Canonsburg Lake in Washington County, serving audiences throughout Pittsburgh’s South Hills and the surrounding region.
Our intimate, 170-seat theatre-in-the-round places every audience member within 25 feet of the stage. With seating on all four sides, each performance feels immediate, personal, and completely unique. Little Lake produces musicals and plays from April through December and offers theatre classes, camps, and educational opportunities for people of all ages.
Little Lake Theatre was founded in 1949 by Will Disney, who envisioned a place where actors, directors, designers, volunteers, students, and audiences could create together, learn from one another, and enjoy one another’s company. That spirit remains at the heart of Little Lake today.
Led by Artistic Director Patrick Cannon and Managing Director Patti Knapp, Little Lake is honoring its historic home while entering an exciting period of growth. Through its expansion to CECI, along with expanded programming, educational opportunities, and community partnerships, Little Lake is reaching more artists, students, and audiences across the region while remaining rooted in the community-centered vision that began in 1949.
The Organization
Little Lake Theatre is powered by a dedicated team of paid staff members, volunteers, artists, educators, and community leaders.
Our day-to-day artistic, production, and administrative operations are led by Artistic Director Patrick Cannon, Managing Director Patti Knapp, Director of Production Katie Flanigan, and Associate Artistic Director Nathan Walter. Together, they work in partnership with Little Lake’s Board of Directors, which provides mission-driven leadership, strategic guidance, governance, and support.
Our staff and Board help Little Lake remain artistically ambitious and organizationally strong while expanding our programming, deepening our community partnerships, and creating meaningful theatrical experiences at our historic home and at CECI.
