Patrick Cannon is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Pittsburgh, PA and the Artistic Director of Little Lake Theatre Company. His film projects, Submit It to Festivals (director/writer), Mulligan (creator/actor), and We Are Nowhere (actor/producer) have been Official Selections in five Academy Award–qualifying film festivals. Cannon’s play The Tragedy of Yorick: A Comedy won second place in the Writer’s Digest Script Competition, was a Screencraft Quarterfinalist, and was named a second-round selection at the Austin Film Festival.
As an actor, Cannon has workshopped Broadway-bound productions and developed new work across the country, participating in regional and national new play development, readings, and workshops. His performance credits include work with Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Public Theater, City Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre, Pittsburgh Playhouse, Steppenwolf Theatre Garage Rep, Bricolage Production Company, Front Porch Theatricals, Mountain Playhouse, Cape May Stage, barebones productions, Boomerang Theater Company, Strange Tree Group, The Barnstormers, No Name Players, and St. Vincent Summer Theatre. He most recently appeared on stage in Pittsburgh Public Theater’s productions of Sweat (Jason) and Little Shop of Horrors (The Dentist), City Theatre’s production of Clyde’s (Jason), and The Shark Is Broken, portraying Roy Scheider. He is a member of Actors’ Equity Association.
Cannon holds a BA in Theatre from Columbia College Chicago and an MFA in Screenwriting and Playwriting from Point Park University. He is currently in his fifth season serving as the Artistic Director of Little Lake Theatre Company, helping shape the company’s artistic direction while expanding its role within the community. He resides in Pittsburgh with his wife, Emily.
